Congratulations to Devin Payton, D.C. United's September Coach of the Month!

With over 21 years of coaching and playing experience, Devin Payton offers area athletes opportunity to improve at all levels of the game. Devin has four years of experience coaching and teaching children ages 3½ to 6½, and eight years of coaching experience with older kids.

Former parade and NSCAA All American and Gatorade Maryland player of the year, Devin had a brilliant career at Old Dominion University. Devin went on to play professional soccer with the Northern VA Royals, Maryland Mania, and Carolina Dynamo. Likewise he has trained with other professional teams such as Hershey Wildcats, Nashville Metros, Richmond Kickers, and MLS Tampa Bay Mutiny in 2001.

Coach Payton's most recent playing experience was in the US Futsal National Team in 2002. Throughout Devin's playing and coaching career he has passed on his knowledge of the game to hundreds of area soccer players though his personal and team instruction.

Coach Payton is a member of NSCAA, MD ODP Technical Coach and DDP U-90's Boys Head Coach. Devin is also Co-Vice president of Maryland Futsal and (clinician) technical adviser for Maryland Futsal clinics. Coach Devin also holds USSF National B coaching license. He is currently the head coach for the Bethesda Ajax U-15 Boys as well as the St. John's College High School Varsity Girls club. Coach Devin is also a technical advisor for the Olney and Bethesda Soccer Club Youth Academies.
