Mission: To identify and develop the area's most talented players, providing them with the most professional environment possible, maximizing our resources as the most successful soccer club in U.S. History and helping them to reach their full potential as soccer players with the ultimate goal of signing them to a professional contract where they will contribute to the success of the first team.
As part of D.C. United's commitment to the Washington D.C. community, the club continues to offer one of the strongest youth programs in the country. D.C. United's player development program has provided hundreds of DC Metro Area soccer players with an opportunity to compete for a spot on the first team. The youth coaches compliment the program with their high degree of professional instruction, experience, and integrity while teaching proper technique and soccer skills. More »

D.C. UNITED ANNOUNCES ACADEMY TEAM TRYOUT DATES FOR U16 AND U18 BOYS TEAMS!
August 11-28, 2008
Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-8:00p.m. at the RFK Auxillary turf field.
U16s: 5:00-6:30p.m.
U18s: 6:30-8:00p.m.
Cutoff dates are:
U16 - January 1992 or after
U18 - January 1990 or after
All players must fill out a 2008 Youth Teams Waiver and a 2008 Youth Teams Registration which can be found here at dcunited.com and return it when you come for tryouts.

- For the 2008 season, D.C. United Academy teams will compete in the newly formed US Soccer Development Academy. In a move designed to improve the development environment for players throughout the country, the U.S. Soccer Federation has taken the initiative in formalizing a nationwide development academy slated to begin Columbus Day Weekend, October 6-8, 2007 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Super Y-League Teams - U-20 Boys
TRYOUT DATES ANNOUNCED- April 25th, May 2nd, May 9th and May 16th, 5:30-7:30 p.m., RFK Auxiliary Turf field
- D.C. United's SYL Youth Teams currently compete in United Soccer League's Super Y-League, one of the most competitive leagues in the country. For the 2008 season we will have one team at the U-20 level. This team will be made up with the areas top players born on or after January 1, 1988. We are looking for the most serious players who want to play for and represent the most successful club in American History!

- ALL PLAYERS MUST FILL OUT THE YOUTH TEAMS WAIVER AND REGISTRATION FORM BEFORE THEY CAN TRYOUT
- "In partnership with the Washington Freedom and in advance of the launch of the new Women's Professional Soccer league, D.C. United will be handing over the girls side of our youth development program to the Freedom," said John Maessner, United Director of Youth Development. "Although we have very much enjoyed having girls teams in the past, we believe it makes more sense for the Washington Freedom to take the lead role in working with the top young female soccer players in the area and firmly establishing a professional avenue for those players to aspire to."
D.C. United U15 Academy Developmental Training Program - '92, '93, '94, '95, '96 -
TRYOUT DATES ANNOUNCED -April 25th, May 2nd and May 9th, 4:00-5:30 p.m., RFK Auxillary Turf field
- This program is specifically designed for the areas most talented '92's, '93's and '94's. These players will be identified, evaluated and considered for D.C. United's 2009 U-16 Academy team. We will train 2 times per week, Wednesday and Friday nights with intra-squad matches on Saturdays starting June 11th - August 9th, 2008. Players in the Academy Developmental Training Program will be integrated with our current U-16 Academy players. TRYOUT DATES ANNOUNCED -April 25th, May 2nd and May 9th, 400-530pm, RFK Auxiliary Turf field.
