D.C. UNITED ACADEMY CAMPS: TYPES OF CAMPS
Half-Day Academy
For the recreational and competitive soccer player 8-14 years old. This comprehensive program will focus on age-appropriate technical, tactical and physical aspects of the game. This all encompassing program is the foundation for players of all ages and abilities. Players of each level will be challenged in an exciting soccer environment. The Academy runs Monday through Friday for three hours each day. Cost is $175 per person.

Full-Day Academy
For the competitive and serious soccer player 8-14 years old with aspirations to move on to the Club, ODP, Super Y-League or High School level. This camp will test and develop dedicated players in an extended day program. Players will be challenged in the morning with skill and group tactics sessions and apply what they learn in afternoon games. The Academy runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. Cost is $265 per person.

Elite Academy
For the potential or serious soccer player 9-16 years old. We are targeting players who have experience at the Club, ODP, Super Y-League or High School level. Each player will be challenged in daily skill sessions and competitive small-sided games. In addition to other Academy programs, the Elite Academy offers students top-class instruction from United's Technical Staff and players, including an opportunity to observe United practice and an evaluation for D.C. United's youth teams. The Elite Academy is four days from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. Cost is $295 per person.

High School Preseason Academy
Specifically designed to maximize preparation for the 2008-09 high school season, this camp is designed for the high school player with aspirations to play college soccer. Players will have training sessions, play small-sided and full-sided games, and do physical testing while being evaluated by D.C. United’s youth team staff and the area’s top college coaches. Group and Team tactics will be the focus along with elements of technical training and fitness components. The High School Academy runs Monday through Friday evening for three hours each day. Cost is $175 per person.

 Striker & Goalkeeper Academy
Introducing an intense week of specialized training for the serious soccer player 9-16 years old. All STRIKERS will be put through a challenging curriculum dedicated to the art of creating and scoring goals. This Academy is a great opportunity for players to improve their technique, offensive skills in the attacking third, passing, dribbling, shooting, and scoring from crosses, volleys, and headers. GOALKEEPERS will be put through a competitive program focused on shot stopping, saving crosses, proper footwork, decision making, and will learn to read the game through match situations. They will be given individual attention from select goalkeeper coaches’ chosen by D.C. United’s Technical staff. The Academy runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. Cost is $265 per person.
