MLS Experience

2008:: Domenic Mediate unfortunately endured another difficult year after suffering a concussion in United's 3-1 win over San Jose on 6/22. The part-time midfielder, part-time defender attempted to come back, but encountered continued difficulties. He was put on the season-ending injury list on 9/12, finishing the season with eight appearances (four starts) and 437 minutes played. He has also appeared in four reserve matches (all starts) for a total of 301 minutes.

2007: Mediate had a relatively tumultuous 2007. After suffering a broken leg late in the 2006 season, the midfielder rehabbed, but was waived by United in March. The persistent midfielder continued to train with D.C., participated in four reserve games and was eventually offered a senior roster spot on 6/28. He ended up playing in 10 games (2 starts) with the first team offering help both in the midfield and defense. He played in 10 games (nine starts) for the reserves, logging a goal and two assists.

2006: In his first season with United, Domenic Mediate played in eight League games (two starts). In his first appearance on 5/13, he played the full 90 in a 2-1 win over Kansas City. His season was shortened due to injuries. In a 1-0 win over Chicago 6/21, he played 44 minutes before leaving with a concussion, which caused him to miss time. After recovering, he worked his way back into the lineup, but suffered a broken leg in the team's 5-2 loss to Los Angeles on 8/26, which required season-ending surgery to repair his broken distal fibula.

2005: Selected in the second round (23rd overall) of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by the Columbus Crew, Mediate appeared in 11 games (four starts) and notched a goal and an assist.

College

He ended his collegiate career with 27 goals and 17 assists while being selected to the All-ACC First Team, CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team, Maryland/adidas Classic All-Tournament Team and Virginia/Nike Classic All-Tournament Team.

2003: As a junior, Mediate contributed four goals and two assists in the 22 matches (21 starts) he played for the Terrapins. He was an All-ACC Second Team selection despite the fact that his season was cut short in the second round of the NCAA Tournament due to a broken collarbone.

2002: Mediate was the Terrapins' second-leading scorer with 13 goals and five assists during his sophomore season. He was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team for his two-goal, two-assist performance during the competition.

2001: As a freshman, Mediate's season was cut short due to a bone fracture in his face that was sustained during a collision with another player. He scored a goal and notched an assist in eight games.
