MLS Experience
2008: Carroll's 2008 season was one marred by continuous injury problems. He twice had surgery on his left big toe to repair a ruptured plantar and was limited to 63 minutes in Reserve Division play, making two appearances (one start). He was put on the season-ending injury list on 9/12.2007: The younger Carroll brother, Jeff remained a key figure of the club's reserves in 2007, seeing time in nine reserve games (eight starts). He played a total of 710 minutes and tallied two assists in the Reserve Division. Though he did not see the field with the first team, he was named to the 18-man roster on several occasions.
2006: A versatile midfielder and defender, Carroll joined his older brother Brian as a member of United, making two appearances for the senior squad. Carroll also received his first career MLS start, going the full 90 minutes against New York on 9/23. A key member of the United reserve team, Carroll led the team in minutes played, starting all but one game for the reserves, chalking up a goal and two assists in the process.
College
2005: During his senior season and the Red Storm's journey to the NCAA Tournament, Carroll earned All-New York Region Third Team and All-Big East Second Team honors.2004: Carroll earned All-Big East Third Team honors during his junior year campaign, as he appeared in all 22 games. He notched an assist on the year.
2003: During his sophomore season, Carroll was instrumental in St. John's midfield, appearing in 26 games (24 starts).
2002: During his freshman season, the Virginia native appeared in 21 games (15 starts) for the Red Storm. He collected two assists and notched a game-winning, overtime goal in the first round of the College Cup against Fairleigh Dickinson.
