"We are pleased to have Marc at D.C. United," said United Technical Director Dave Kasper. "We believe that his versatility will enable him to contribute to the team and look forward to his return to the area."
Following three years at the University of Evansville (2002-2004), Burch transferred to the University of Maryland and helped the team to the 2005 NCAA Championship. He scored the game-winning goal in the College Cup final against New Mexico, a 1-0 victory. While at Evansville, he scored seven goals and added 22 assists. He was a three-time All-MVC pick and a first team NSCAA All-Midwest selection as a sophomore. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he was named the Gatorade National High School Player of the Year in 2001.
